Understanding the Lyrics: Roads Untraveled

When you're happy, you hear the music; when you're sad, you understand the lyrics. - frank ocean

I’m back with another song that has been stuck in my head/speaking to me lately.

Yes, that video is from Need for Speed.

I am aware that it is not an Oscar-winning movie, but I like it still.

Without shame, I also like Torque (You should check out that link for the cast list alone!).

There is something about mediocre movies that are redeemed by their soundtrack and this is one of those for me. Yes, I will watch the last ¾ of the movie just to get to this song – it leads into the closing credits.

This is one of those songs that equate to the great poetry we study in school.

There are two lines that get me each time:

Let that mistake pass on. - Roads Untraveled by Linkin Park

Anyone else have trouble letting go of
stupid things/choices you made in the past?

The love that you lost wasn’t worth what it cost. Roads Untraveled by Linkin Park

Chills, I tell ya.

Roads Untraveled –
Linkin Park

Weep not for roads untraveled
Weep not for paths left lone
‘Cause beyond every bend is a long blinding end
It’s the worst kind of pain I’ve known

Give up your heart left broken
And let that mistake pass on
‘Cause the love that you lost wasn’t worth what it cost
And in time you’ll be glad it’s gone

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa

Weep not for roads untraveled
Weep not for sights unseen
May your love never end and if you need a friend,
There’s a seat here alongside me

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa
